CV Template

If you are looking at making a job move the time will likely come when you have to prepare a CV.

There is no exact science to this but the below, in my experience, is a good layout and format:-

-Contact Details:- ????

These should be at the top of your CV including telephone numbers and an email address.

-Career History:- ????
I find that for experienced lawyers or legal support professionals career history is what you should lead on (with the most recent roles at the top).

This allows for employers to quickly ascertain and see your suitability and experience for a role which is the main thing they will be looking for when considering your application.

This should include:-

- The firm or company you worked for
- The dates you worked there
- Job title

- Bullet points detailing your main responsibilities in the role and highlights and achievements in the position.

(This is a chance to sell yourself and your skills relevant to the role you are going for, but obviously keep it truthful)

- Education:- ????

Below career history should be an overview of your educational achievements. Including details such as:-

- Qualification achieved
- Name of university, college, school or organisation
qualification obtained from
- Dates attended
- Brief summary of the course and what you learned.

(Again keep it truthful as checks will be done )

--Skills:- ????

- IT skills, such as software packages that you are familiar with
- Languages,
- Any other Skills you consider relevant to the position you are aiming to secure.

--Interests:-⚽????
A brief overview of what they are interested in outside of work.

--References:- ????
These can be included on your CV although again it is not essential information as those details can be confirmed further down the line.
